Pour apprendre à lire, il est nécessaire que les élèves comprennent que les lettres et combinaisons de lettres (graphèmes) à l’écrit, représentent les sons (phonèmes) des mots à l’oral.

 

Enfin, des méta-analyses montrent des performances plus

élevées chez les élèves qui suivent conjointement un programme d’entraînement de la conscience phonologique et d’apprentissage du nom des lettres

(Bus, Van Ijzendoorn, 1999 ; Ehri et al, 2001).
